The first few months of your puppy's life are critical in shaping the dog it will become. Proper socialization familiarizes your friend with the environment through consistent exposure to new experiences.

Adequate daily attention and play-time are vital to your dog's development. Socialized dogs lead happier lives than dogs that haven't been properly socialized. The socialized dog is well adjusted to the world around it, is able to adapt more easily to new situations, and is more accepting of new experiences.

Dogs that aren't properly socialized during their first year can become shy and afraid of their environment. Unsocialized dogs are often untrustworthy, an unwanted liability, difficult to train, and are generally unpleasant to be around.

Don't wait to begin the socialization of your puppy. Every day is an opportunity for socialization that should be taken advantage of otherwise it is lost forever.
